Taipei, Taiwan 11th of April 2018.
Netberg has ported SONiC network OS to its Aurora 710 switch on Barefoot Tofino silicon.
SONiC is a collection of networking software components required to have a fully functional L3 device. It is designed to meet the requirements of a cloud data center.
It is based on Debian Linux and is managing configuration in a single source of truth – a redisDB instance that refers as ConfigDB.
SONiC is deployed in Microsoft production datacenters.
“This is another step in our ceaseless journey into open networking,” – said Andrew Sapronov, CTO of Netberg. “From now on, Aurora 710 is not just a development platform, but a fully-functional data center switch.”
