PRODUCTS

The Netberg Aurora 221 open networking switch re-envigorates the 1G world. It’s an easy-to-use Gigabit Ethernet device with 48x 10/100/1000 RJ45 Base-T and 8x 10G SFP+ ports. Its unique port configuration allows for flexible network architectures in data centers or enterprise environments, where an all-10G connection is not yet required.

With Broadcom Trident3-X2 BCM56277 at heart, Aurora 221 addresses the need for bandwidth and network intelligence at data centers and the edge of modern campus networks.

Its high-availability design features redundant, hot-swappable PSU and fan modules.

With an x86-based control plane running Intel Atom C3308 CPU and ONIE bootloader, Aurora 221 is ready to deploy SONiC as a main NOS.

Ubuntu Linux and OpenBCM Broadcom Core Switch Software Development Kit (SDK) allow custom application development, lowering the entry bar to an unprecedented level.

Simplified deployment
  • With full Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) support, network operators can install the target Network Operating Systems (NOS) as part of data center provisioning in the fashion that servers are provisioned.
Performance
  • 48x 10Base-T/100Base-T/1000Base-T + 8x 1/10G SFP+ in 1 RU
  • Switching silicon: 130Gbps Broadcom Trident3-X2 BCM56277
  • Intel Atom C3308 dual-core processor for application deployment
Reliable hardware platform
  • Redundant 150W 1+1 power
  • Redundant 1+1 cooling
Network OS (NOS) options
  • Ubuntu Linux with open Broadcom SDK for application development.
  • SONiC offers a full suite of network functionality, like BGP and RDMA, that has been production-hardened in the data centers of some of the largest cloud service providers.
